Helping you make sense of your personal technology
Confused or frustrated by some of the gadgets and gizmos in your life? You’re not alone. Technology is advancing so quickly — and into every corner of our lives — that it leaves many people scratching their heads or, worse, feeling a little intimidated.
But it doesn't have to be that way. Sometimes, it just takes someone to help you make sense of it all.
That’s where I come in.
With more than 35 years of experience helping people feel comfortable with technology, I provide personalized, calm, and respectful device/system setup*, training, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
Get in touch with me and soon you'll be saying, "It all makes sense, now that I've got my own tech guy."
* I do not perform installations

How I help
Working together is as simple as, well, just talking and figuring it out. (Of course, it helps that you'll be talking with someone who gets tech.) Here's how it works:

We meet (in person, on the phone or over video) to resolve your issue(s)
Upon satisfactory resolution of your situation and need, I send you a handy follow-up report stating what the issue was, how I resolved it and any steps or links that you can use to take care of it yourself from here on in
About your tech guy
You know how some people are natural born singers? Or great at math? Or languages? Well, I was always great with technology.
I guess it was in the genes. My dad was a wiz with household electrical stuff. His brother, my uncle, was a TV repair man. My mom's father was in construction. And my cousin was a teenage car mechanic.
When I was 9, my dad showed me how to put in a dimmer switch for the kitchen, and then let me go solo on a dimmer for the bathroom. I helped him run wires through and down the living room wall so two sconces could be powered as if by magic. At 9, I was walking to The Radio Shack to test, buy and switch out broken vacuum tubes from our TVs, radios and my hobby short wave radio.
At 12, I opened up my beloved 1st gen cassette recorder and replaced the broken drive belts that had halted playback, fast forward and rewind of Proud Mary by Creedence Clearwater Revival (I couldn't get enough of that song!). At 13, I built an audio patch station from a cigar box, cutting holes in the lid, fastening female RCA, 1/4" phono, and 1/8" mini phono jacks into the top, then soldering connective wiring underneath to the positive and negative terminals of each plug.
Well, you get the picture.
Fast forward to today. For the past 37 years, I've incorporated my innate technology prowess into a variety of roles, including: owner of a corporate communications startup called Video Marketing Concepts; Marketing Programs Manager for the SONY Jumbotron screen in Times Square; and, in Ernst & Young's global technology organization, I served as: a technical and marketing writer; a video and webcast producer; Creative Director; Business Relationship Manager; and Standards and Compliance Manager.
All along the way, I've kept up with the tech tools and gadgets of the day (probably buying way too many of them) and helping family, friends, colleagues and entire organizations learn how to master that tech for themselves. (In case you missed it, here's a listing of what I can help you with.)
I bring all that accumulated knowledge and experience to you and your need(s). What I don't already know, I spend a few minutes with a manual and I soon do. Like I said…it's in the genes.
